Welcome to The Gambia

The Gambia is a major African tourist destination situated along the west coast of Africa and some six hours flight from Europe. The country is known for her tropical climate, sandy beaches, friendly people and interesting culture and tradition. Being a former British colony, English is the official language. 

The Gambia is known as ”The Smiling Coast of Africa” because her people welcomes you with a smile. The name is also said to be inspired by the location of the country on the map, it cuts through the middle of Senegal. Due to this it appears like a smile on the map of the African continent.
